As Assistant Art Director, my responsibility at Martha Stewart Living was to provide an overarching creative and visual direction for a story, including developing the underlying concept, art-directing the photo-shoot, designing the page layout design, and overseeing all detailed tweaks until the piece was ready for press. Martha Stewart Living is a unique magazine, with many core departments (garden, food, craft, collecting, decorating, home-keeping, health, and beauty), all striving for the objective to teach and inspire. Working there was a wonderful experience, and I feel like I truly learned how to be an art director, a skill that will be forever useful to me.
